A Closer Look at this Previously Featured Amish Recipe
1 1/2 lbs beef, in chunks
1 large can tomatoes
3 stalks celery, chopped
1/2 cabbage, cut up
1/2 cup rice
1 soup bone
1 large onion, chopped
6 or 8 carrots, sliced
5 potatoes, cut up
1/2 teaspoon celery seed
1 teaspoon sugar
salt and pepper to taste
Cover beef and bone with water and simmer about 1 1/2 hours or until done. Remove bone and add vegetables and other ingredients in order given. Cook until vegetables and rice are done, about 45 minutes.
