A Closer Look at this Previously Featured Amish Recipe

Banana Nut Bars

2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1 2/3 cup sugar

1 1/4 teaspoon baking powder

1 1/4 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon salt

3/4 cup butter or oleo, softened

2/3 cup buttermilk or sour milk

1 1/4 cup very ripe mashed bananas

2 eggs

1/2 cup chopped nuts

In a three-quart bowl mix all dry ingredients.  Add butter, buttermilk and bananas.  Beat until moistened, add eggs; beat two more minutes. Stir in nuts, turn into ungreased 10 inch pan.  Bake at 350o oven 30-40 minutes.
