A Closer Look at this Previously Featured Amish Recipe
2 1/4 cups cake flour
4 teaspoons baking powder
2 tablespoons sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup shortening
2/3 cup milk
Preheat oven to 425o. Sift flour, baking powder, salt and sugar together. Add shortening, cutting in with a pastry blender until crumbly. Stir in egg and milk. Spread in greased 8 inch round cake pan. Bake at 425o for 15 minutes.
Note: Serve topped with fresh strawberries and whipped cream.
