A Closer Look at this Previously Featured Amish Recipe
5 pounds ground beef
1 cup onion, chopped
1 cup celery
1teaspoon chili powder
3 tablespoon salt and pepper
3 gallon water
1 gallon tomato puree
1 cup corn starch
2 gallons kidney beans
1 1/2 teaspoons chili powder
Brown meat, onions, celery and 1 teaspoon chili powder in a very large pot. Add water, tomato puree, 1 1/2 teaspoon chili powder and salt and pepper. Let mixture come to a boil. Thicken with corn starch and then add kidney beans. Makes a very large batch.
