A Closer Look at this Previously Featured Amish Recipe
1 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp soda
1/2 cup cocoa
1/2 cup shortening
1/2 cup milk
1 3/4 cup sifted flour
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup chopped nuts
marshmallows
powdered sugar
Cream sugar and shortening; add egg. Add dry ingredients alternately with milk. Add nuts and mix well. Drop by spoonfuls onto cookie sheets. Bake at 350o for 8 minutes. After baking, top with 1/2 of the marshmallows and return to oven until marshmallow is warm. Sprinkle with powdered sugar.
