A Closer Look at this Previously Featured Amish Recipe
1 cup nuts
1 1/4 cups flour
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup coconut
8 ounces cream cheese
1/3 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 can cherry pie filling
Combine flour, brown sugar and butter and blend to fine crumbs. Add coconut and 1/2 cup nuts. Set aside 1/2 cup crumbs and pack the rest into a 9 x 13 inch greased baking dish. Bake at 350o for 15 minutes.
Soften cream cheese and add sugar, egg and vanilla. Spread over hot baked layer and bake 10 minutes.
Spread cherry pie filling over top and sprinkle with remaining nuts and reserved crumbs. Bake 15 minutes longer.
