A Closer Look at this Previously Featured Amish Recipe
1 cup rice
1 cup raisins
1 quart milk
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
pinch of nutmeg
In a large bowl, mix milk, eggs, salt, sugar, vanilla and nutmeg. Add rice and raisins. Cook with bowl half submerged in water in a 325o Fahrenheit oven for about 2 hours or until a knife inserted in the middle comes out clean.
